About The Position

NETZSCH Pumps USA is looking for a competent, mechanically-inclined individual to work as an Inside Sales Application Engineer in their Exton, PA facility. The Sales Application Engineer’s main responsibility is to prepare proposals based on a clearly defined set of requirements issued by an end-user, engineering firm and/or contractor, an OEM or an independent sales representative/distributor. In addition, the Sales Application Engineer must also be able to enter the order and follow up throughout the manufacturing and shipping process. Focusing on customer service, and offering NETZSCH pumps as the best solution for their needs, the Sales Application Engineer will perform the following duties among others:

Requirements

  • Successful candidates will have a 2 year technical degree with 2 years previous experience as an application engineer in a similar mechanical field; or 4 year or higher technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong aptitude and/or previous experience in hydraulic engineering required.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, commercial terms, P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and the ability to deal with problems.
  • A valid driver’s license and current passport or the ability to obtain passport upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quotations for pumps, parts, and systems based on technical and commercial specifications.
  • Communicate via phone and email with customers, representatives and direct accounts such as OEM’s.
  • Process orders into the system accurately and support the engineering and operations teams throughout the order entry and manufacturing processes.
  • Support manufacturing, engineering and quality control teams on laboratory testing activities and when pumps are returned to the factory for repairs.
  • Travel with the Regional Sales Manager periodically to become exposed to customers and applications in the various regions.
