The position involves maintaining and cultivating positive customer relationships, handling inquiries in a professional manner, and providing pricing and availability information on standard or specialty items directly to customers. The role requires working directly with manufacturers to schedule and expedite purchase orders, maintaining stock material, and replenishing parts as necessary. Additionally, the position involves collaborating with sales representatives to resolve customer issues or complaints, taking and soliciting orders from customers over the phone and via email, and processing orders through an order entry system. The individual will expedite orders and maintain contact with customers and suppliers, resolve any order problems related to delivery or paperwork, and follow up on orders to ensure critical deliveries. The role also includes working in concert with the outside sales team to funnel leads and opportunities, resolving product issues, and following all safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and SOPs
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent reading and writing skills
  • Two to three years' experience in materials management or equivalent education/experience
  • Driver's license
  • Good judgment about people; customer service oriented; ability to deal with vendors
  • Able to utilize PC and office application software
  • Knowledge of automated shipping and inventory systems
