About The Position
The mission of this position is to address the tire needs of customers in a safe, approved manner using the proper tools and techniques. The essential duties include identifying and inflating tires correctly for the size and ply, placing wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels, dismounting wheels from vehicles using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools, and mounting wheels onto vehicles. Additionally, the technician will reassemble tires onto wheels, replace valve stems, remove puncturing objects, locate and seal punctures, and perform lube, oil, filter, and tire services on passenger and light truck vehicles as needed. Maintaining positive relationships with customers, tools, and related tire accessories, as well as keeping a clean shop to reflect the proper corporate image, are also key responsibilities. The technician must embrace Purcell’s culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner, with regular attendance in accordance with the assigned schedule. The ability to perform physical requirements as listed in the job description is essential, along with other duties as assigned by management.
