About The Position

As a Property Claim Representative at Travelers, you will play a crucial role in the claims process, providing assurance to customers during challenging times. This position involves evaluating and resolving personal and business property claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions while maintaining compliance with regulations. You will utilize your interpersonal and analytical skills to manage claims effectively, especially during catastrophic events, and contribute to the overall customer experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of insurance-related experience and/or successful completion of Travelers Outside Claim Representative training program.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma/certificate or professional insurance designation such as CIP.
  • Two years of claim handling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality claim handling throughout the claim life cycle while maintaining compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Resolve previously closed 1st party PI and BI Property claims of varying severity and complexity.
  • Address inquiries from customers, contractors, brokers, or other participants regarding open or closed Property claims.
  • Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program as part of the Field Response Team in Canada.
  • Complete virtual inspections of losses, including accurate damage assessments, photographs, and written estimates.
  • Handle claims and functional work involving multiple lines of business beyond property.
  • Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with provincial and Travelers requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
