About The Position

Join the Action with our Winning Team! The Quad Cities Times is looking for an experienced Machine Operator. If you are mechanically inclined and have experience in a production or manufacturing environment this may be the perfect position for you! This position is directly responsible for learning all aspects of the assigned job field, including set up, operation and basic maintenance of all production packing equipment including insert machines, stackers, strappers, and other equipment plus counting and checking of newspapers and advertising pre-prints for accuracy. In addition, the Operator directs workflow and maintains a safe working environment. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs in order to meet established deadlines.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in packaging, production, and/or manufacturing operation.
• Ability to work night shift, 6pm - 2am, including weekends.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Nice To Haves

• Experience running newspaper production machinery.
• Experience using forklifts and pallet-jacks.

Responsibilities
