About The Position

Millwood Hospital (a UHS affiliated hospital) is a 134-bed mental health facility that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment. Millwood’s caring, and multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. Millwood Hospital is located in Arlington, TX in the heart of the city. It is 5 minutes away from AT&T Stadium home of the Dallas Cowboys. The hospital is less than 35 minutes from DFW International Airport. Millwood Hospital is a Joint Commission accredited hospital with a solid reputation in the community and is part of one of the nation’s largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc. The Inpatient Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed. Must be available to attend the Full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
  • Prefer a minimum of one to three (1-3) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility.
  • Direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Must possess a state licensure: LPC, LPC-A, LCDC, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW.
  • CPR and CPI training must be completed prior to beginning work.
  • Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
