About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an Inpatient Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent night-shift opportunity in Gainesville, Florida. The Inpatient Surgical RN provides post-operative nursing care to adult patients recovering from a variety of surgical procedures. This role focuses on wound care, pain management, patient education, and safe recovery following PACU discharge, while maintaining strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Requirements

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for.
Florida RN license or valid multistate compact license required.
Candidates with compact licensure must obtain Florida licensure as required.
Associate Degree or RN Diploma required; BSN preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last 4 years) acute care RN experience required.
Candidates with 3+ years of RN experience and compact licensure may be considered.
Candidates with less than 3 years of RN experience must obtain Florida NCLEX licensure prior to consideration if not already licensed in Florida.
Must be comfortable with a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Ability to attend in-person interviews and onsite evaluations as required.

Responsibilities

Provide post-surgical nursing care to patients following PACU recovery.
Perform wound care, monitor surgical sites, and manage post-operative pain.
Deliver patient education related to recovery expectations, wound recognizing complications, and discharge planning.
Monitor patient status and intervene appropriately for changes in condition.
Manage multiple patients safely while maintaining quality, efficiency, and patient-centered care.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal outcomes.
