About The Position

Inpatient surgery pharmacist position at Mayo Clinic Hospital- Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, MN. In this role, the pharmacist provides exceptional care to patients throughout their peri-operative journey; including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of medication management. Decentral clinical services consist of collaborative practice with multidisciplinary teams, identification of drug-related problems, provision and documentation of recommendations through progress notes regarding optimization of drug therapy, admission and discharge medication reconciliation, transition of care planning, participation on discharge rounds, intermittent surgical team rounds, and direct patient care. Job Responsibilities include assessment of medication therapy regimens, medication therapy management, medication order verification/entry, medication distribution, medication therapy monitoring, and consultation, documentation of medication therapy plans, and medication use education and pharmaceutical care services. Precepting of Mayo Clinic pharmacy and other disciplines’ learners is expected. Involvement in scholarly activities including quality initiatives and multidisciplinary research is encouraged and supported through extensive institutional and departmental resources.
