About The Position

The Supervisor-Rehabilitation Services has responsibility for providing direct patient care, managing operational workflows, and supporting clinical aspects of an assigned group of clinicians within Rehab Services to provide effective and efficient patient care. The Rehab supervisor participates as a member of the management team to assure attainment of the Rehab Department objectives. The supervisor supports Rehab Managers and the Director in developing solutions to rehab services care delivery, operational processes/workflows, technological innovations, any regulatory developments, and restructuring of work. Locations Stanford Health Care What you will do Provides direct patient care and supports assigned clinical team Focuses staff efforts on serving patient needs and establishing a working environment conducive to continuous learning and quality improvements, and which supports excellence in clinical practice and patient care. Supports institutional and departmental philosophy, maintains treatment protocols and standards, and contributes to programs which support a dynamic environment to meet the needs of the patients in an efficient manner. Assists the leadership team in developing and retaining clinicians who contribute significantly to the growth and success of the Rehabilitation Department. With support from Manager, assures effective working relationships, motivates staff in fulfilling job responsibilities and communicates the institution’s philosophy. Contributes to short- and long-range plans for new delivery innovations in assigned areas of rehabilitation. Supports clinical/professional skills development in staff; maintains communication mechanisms with Managers/Director who are responsible for the service area Ensures compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards, including quality assurance, and License requirements within the service line unit. Supports daily operation in assigned area which may include staffing, scheduling, case management, utilization, and equipment/supplies Supports Managers/Director in the implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning for staffing, process improvement, and medical program changes; implements/supports projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals. In collaboration with Managers/Director, provides input on operations and strategic plans for assigned area and for specific programs and services within the organization. Participates in the interview, selection, and training of new staff; approves or disapproves recommendations from subordinate staff on personnel actions; contributes to the evaluation of subordinates' performance; hears/resolves employee grievances; and with guidance from Manager, determines the need for and initiates disciplinary action to ensure adequate and competent staffing for the agency, program, division, or institution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university; Master’s preferred
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience; at least one year of supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate staff/processes and write reports
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize operational gaps and develop appropriate interventions
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast -paced environment
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and resources (people, costs, time)
  • Demonstrated ability to mediate and resolve simple problems and issues

  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, and personnel management
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, equipment, and theory of the practice of clinical specialty
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • AOTA - Occupational Therapy
  • Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of CA (SP)
  • Physical Therapy in the State of California required (Codes: OTR, PT, PTA, SLP)
