About The Position

Innovative Therapy Concepts is a Physical Therapist owned and operated Therapy management organization that was founded by Joe Sapp, PT in 2006. We began our partnership with Northside Gwinnett in 2013 to provide therapy services throughout the Northside Gwinnett system. ITC is searching for an Occupational Therapist this is passionate about patient recovery in a teamwork environment. Northside Glancy is a newly renovated, 30 bed Acute Inpatient Rehab setting. Individual therapy is provided with a multi-disciplinary team approach which includes Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy. Primary patient population is Neuro based, with secondary populations including post-trauma as well as post intensive care diagnoses. Patients receive at least 3 hours of combined therapy per day with focus on regaining safe functional mobility and activities of daily living. Therapists attend weekly interdisciplinary conferences and collaborate daily with rehab nursing team and physicians.

Requirements

• Occupational Therapist with a strong drive to learn and grow - enhance your clinical skills while working with an experienced team
• Candidate with a strong emphasis on patient care, quality, outcomes, and efficiency
• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
• Responsible individual with a solid work ethic
• Excellent communication and people skills

Responsibilities

• Appropriately assesses and examines patients with varying diagnoses according to OT scope of practice.
• Treats patient within the OT scope of practice.
• Teaches patients how to use and care for orthotic, prosthetic devices, and other assistive apparati.
• Administers and interprets standardized assessments/tests.
• Fabricates splints.
• Recommends appropriate adaptive equipment for activities of daily living.
• Coordinates and leads groups.
• Maintains gym area and equipment.
• Provides education to patients, caregivers and associates regarding OT interventions, safety, community resources and outcomes.
• Attends and participates in patient care planning meetings as assigned.
• Supervises treatment and documentation of the occupational therapy assistant.
• Communicates and collaborates with all customers and interdisciplinary team members.
• Contributes to profits and revenues including marketing and productivity.
• Participates in budget development and cost saving efforts.
• Serves on performance improvement teams.
• Participates in community services.
• Delegates treatment tasks to COTAs and aides in accordance with OT state practice guidelines.
• Provides care and documentation in accordance with regulatory, legal, and reimbursement guidelines.
• Accepts responsibility for own growth and development through inservices, required programs and continuing education.
• Complies with all established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains CPR certification.
• All other duties as assigned.
