About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of substance use treatment centers with 18 locations across seven states, providing evidence-based addiction treatment across the full continuum of care. They are JCAHO- and CARF-accredited and operate in full alignment with ASAM standards. The company emphasizes building collaborative, mission-driven teams and supporting clinicians with structure, resources, and leadership. This position is for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at their detox and residential substance use disorder treatment facility in Fort Collins, CO. The role involves providing medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight, with a focus on patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance in a structured, supportive environment. The Fort Collins facility is a 100-bed detox and inpatient treatment center with all medical and clinical services under one roof, supported by 24/7 medical and clinical teams.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (FNP, PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado
  • Active DEA registration
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health (1+ year preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Responsibilities

  • Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care
  • Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support engagement in treatment
  • Order and review medications, labs, and urine drug screens (UDS)
  • Document all medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards
  • Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently
