About The Position

The Inpatient Physical Therapist position at Omaha-Madonna Main Campus involves planning and administering physical therapy treatment programs aimed at restoring function, relieving pain, and preventing disability. The role requires delivering quality patient care from admission through discharge, including education and training for patients and their families. The therapist will select, administer, and interpret evaluation procedures, compile and analyze evaluation information, and establish treatment programs tailored to individual patient needs. Responsibilities also include documenting patient information, recording treatment charges, and modifying interventions based on patient age and condition. The therapist will provide various therapeutic treatments and instruct patients and caregivers in rehabilitation activities. Participation in team meetings to develop patient care plans and supervising assistants and students are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelors, Masters Degree or Doctorate in physical therapy.
  • Current Nebraska PT licensure.
  • CPR for Health Care Provider/CPR for Professional Rescuer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and administer physical therapy treatment programs for patients.
  • Deliver and/or delegate quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Select, administer, and interpret appropriate evaluation procedures for patients.
  • Compile, record, and analyze evaluation information to assist in establishing treatment programs.
  • Identify problems, formulate functional treatment goals, and coordinate individual patient treatment programs.
  • Document changes and comply with legal and ethical standards, including daily charting and summaries.
  • Record daily treatment charges and equipment billing.
  • Analyze and revise treatment programs to ensure appropriate intervention.
  • Modify therapeutic interventions to accommodate the age of the patient population.
  • Provide or delegate physical therapy treatment including therapeutic exercise and pain management.
  • Instruct patients and families/caregivers in functional activities and exercise programs.
  • Provide education regarding the patient's condition and disease process.
  • Participate in team meetings to develop appropriate team plans for each patient.
  • Supervise physical therapist assistants, rehab associates, students, and volunteers.
