About The Position

Organization: EMC - Eden Medical Center Position Overview: Under direction of licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician prepares, distributes, and transports pharmaceuticals including hazardous drugs and performs related duties such as interview patients to complete medication reconciliation. Pharmacy services provided encompass all patient populations of the hospital (i.e. newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, etc.). Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Requirements

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
  • Graduate from Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or two years of college education
  • PHRMTECHR-Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Ability to prepare hazardous solutions, IV additive

Nice To Haves

  • IV Additive, Unit Dose
  • Minimum of one year of hospital experience
