About The Position

AIMS is seeking skilled Pharmacy Technicians to join our team and provide high-quality pharmacy services for PRN position. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in inpatient, outpatient, and oncology pharmacy settings, ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

Requirements

Minimum one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years as an inpatient, outpatient, or oncology pharmacy technician.
Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a similar program, including military training programs.
Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), or CHPhT.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Compliance with applicable state laws concerning the profession.
Fully trained and qualified to provide high-quality services.
Stability and continuity in the workforce to ensure uninterrupted performance of all tasks.
Adherence to professional practice standards and TJC standards

Responsibilities

Assess patient responses to drug therapy and plan drug therapy based on physician-established diagnoses.
Receive and review prescriptions, including controlled drugs, on the pharmacy formulary.
Assess patient responses to prescription or non-prescription drugs according to established agreements and protocols.
Coordinate with prescribers to clarify issues with dosing, interactions, or instructions as needed.
Prepare replenishment orders, receive incoming stock, check for discrepancies, and rotate medication stock and supplies.
Enter medication orders into an electronic healthcare system and review for allergies, interactions, and duplicate orders.
Perform standard assays on finished products, verify ingredients, labeling, and ensure a pharmaceutically elegant product is dispensed.
Operate, maintain, and assist with pharmacy equipment, including PYXIS machines and point-of-use medication cabinets.
Prepare sterile products and perform pharmaceutical calculations for various preparations.
Adhere strictly to sterile procedures and maintain equipment.
Prepare and fill physician orders for IV solutions, parenteral, and inpatient unit dose orders.
Perform maintenance on equipment to ensure sterility of IV products.
Participate in quality assurance data collection and review.
