About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Part-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA. This position involves performing care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Sentara CarePlex Hospital is a 224-bed technologically advanced, acute care facility, and Certified Primary Stroke Center. It offers specialized services in heart and vascular, urologic care, advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, a hospitalist program, and one of the state's busiest emergency departments, including the Orthopedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. Requirements

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

Nice To Haves

• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
• Previous Pharmacy Experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• Other duties may be assigned
