About The Position

The Inpatient Pharmacy Intern at Children's Hospital Colorado plays a crucial role in supporting hospital pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position is designed for first-year pharmacy students who are motivated, detail-oriented, and team-oriented. The intern will be responsible for processing and filling inpatient medication orders, compounding medications, assisting with administrative functions, and documenting clinical activities, all while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy.
• Obtain Pharmacist Intern licensure from the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy within 60 days of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Process and fill inpatient medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Compound medications as required.
• Assist with administrative functions related to pharmacy operations.
• Document clinical activities in the medical record accurately.
• Provide drug information services regarding medication compatibilities, adverse drug events, dosing, and regimens.
• Participate in emergency response and provide patient education on medication-related therapeutic issues.
• Document pharmaceutical interventions according to departmental standards.
