About The Position

BJC HealthCare/Saint Luke’s is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Pharmacist to join our team at Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, KS. This role is designed for a pharmacist who excels in clinical decision-making and collaborative care within a high-functioning health system. You will be responsible for end-to-end medication management—from complex pharmacokinetic consultations to supervising supportive staff—while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety. Schedule Details Status: Part-Time (24 hours/week). Shift: Swing shift coverage between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Rotation: One weekend per month and one Friday evening every two months; includes a holiday rotation. Note: This position includes support for the Community Hospital location. Your Impact Clinical Excellence: Design and monitor therapeutic plans, conduct pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic evaluations, and provide expert drug information to the interdisciplinary team. Patient Advocacy: Deliver comprehensive medication counseling to patients and caregivers to ensure safe and effective transitions of care. Operational Oversight: Interpret and dispense medication orders with precision while maintaining secure, compliant distribution systems. Safety & Quality: Proactively manage and report adverse drug events (ADEs) and medication errors to drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes. Leadership: Supervise pharmacy technicians and supportive personnel, manage departmental projects, and contribute to a culture of professional development.

Requirements

  • Open to early-career professionals (less than 1 year of applicable experience)
  • Strong critical thinking
  • Ability to work within an EMR-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Applicable Experience: 3-5 years
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Licensed Pharmacist - Various
  • Bachelor's Degree
