About The Position

The Pharmacist's role is to dispense, compound, label, store, and ensure the proper use of pharmaceutical preparations, contribute to the efficient operation of the department, direct the Pharmacy Technicians and advance the goals of Norton Healthcare. The Pharmacist uses the principles of pharmaceutical care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes for individual patients. The Pharmacist may provide pharmacy-related education to pharmacists, technicians, other health care practitioners, and the public. It is expected that the Pharmacist shall exercise leadership in all matters related to the medication use process for Patients of all ages. This position requires a high level of interaction with physicians, nurses, patients, other health care providers, as well as pharmacy management in problem solving and project interaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky (KY)

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate Degree
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist
  • Strong preference for inpatient experience or completion of a PGY-1

Responsibilities

  • Dispense, compound, label, and store pharmaceutical preparations.

  • Provide pharmacy-related education to pharmacists, technicians, and other health care practitioners.
  • Exercise leadership in medication use processes for patients of all ages.
  • Support and facilitate the Quality Improvement (QI) process through ongoing development and monitoring of performance improvement indicators.
  • Grow and facilitate Pharmacy work teams to meet quality and clinical standards of care.
  • Assist the Director in effective and efficient use of resources and ensure budget and value proposition targets are met.
