About The Position

Provides practical advice, suggestions, and strategies of recovery to patients as an empowering helper with the perspective of being a recipient of services in the past. Provide one-on-one and group sessions. Interact with patients in the general milieu; focusing on current recovery and tools used to be successful. Provide hope, support, education, and assist patients in setting recovery goals. Provide input, as part of the treatment team, on the patient’s care. Document in patient record. Provide therapeutic milieu monitoring and safety management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
• Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Peer Specialist certification, preferred.
• Peer Specialist on an inpatient psychiatric unit preferred.
