NP/PA Opportunity for a motivated, team-oriented Advanced Practice Provider to join our inpatient Orthopedics team. This full-time position (36–40 hours per week) focuses on inpatient management of patients with orthopedic conditions, with primary responsibility for floor care. Requirements

  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong collaboration and teamwork with colleagues.
  • Orthopedic or inpatient experience preferred however training provided as needed
  • Nurse Practitioner Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
  • Physician Assistant Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patients with orthopaedic conditions in the pre- and post-operative inpatient setting
  • Perform medication reconciliation and coordinate patient discharges
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds including attendance at Ortho Trauma signout, rounding alongside Orthopaedic Attendings and leadership at unit based multi-disciplinary conferences.
  • Provide orthopedic care including splinting and complex dressing changes, wound VACs
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, residents, nursing, and ancillary teams
  • The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
