This position manages and provides overall operational and clinical nursing leadership to an inpatient department or setting. The manager plans and organizes inpatient nursing operations and resources to ensure effective and efficient delivery of patient care consistent with applicable laws, standards, and regulations. Key responsibilities include establishing protocols and practices, ensuring compliance with department, affiliate, operating unit, and/or system standards, policies, procedures, Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and applicable laws. The role involves a strategic and tactical approach to identifying best practices, standardizing workflows/processes, and developing action plans for implementation. The manager is also responsible for establishing and managing capital and operational budgets to achieve financial targets through effective utilization of personnel, resources, and supplies. Furthermore, the position requires developing and maintaining solid partnerships with internal and external peers, leaders, and local/state/federal agencies to facilitate collaboration on initiatives and issue resolution, and providing guidance or direct intervention in challenging or complex situations.
