Inpatient Nurse Tech - Full-Time - 7p - 7a
About The Position
As a full-time Inpatient Nurse Tech, you will work 7p-7a, with 1 8-hour shift/month on a Saturday as the only weekend requirement. This position qualifies for our discretionary quarterly bonuses and our full benefits package! The Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of a RN. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Maintains current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program.
- Basic Life Support certification prior to start date, or class to be taken at OSH within 60 days free of charge.
- Occupational Experience: Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program preferred.
- Specialty Knowledge Skills: Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN.
- Cooperation and strong “team” focus required.
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
