Schedule: Monday–Friday schedule with on-call weekend coverage, rotating every fourth weekend. Position Summary: The inpatient nurse practitioner (NP) is assigned to the Pallitus Health inpatient program and reports to the Sr Director of Clinical Excellence. The NP provides direct patient care, making medically necessary hospice and palliative care visits (billable) and hospice face-to-face recertification (FTF) visits (non-billable). The NP will work collaboratively with the physician and team to cover inpatient palliative and hospice referrals daily. In addition, the NP supports and coordinates care with the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) and participates in education, outreach and leadership activities for the inpatient setting and the community. The NP may be assigned additional patient care or administrative duties at the discretion of the Sr Director of Clinical Excellence or Chief Medical Officer.

Requirements

  • MSN or higher-level Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) for advanced nursing practice in both KY and IN, including DEA and controlled substance permits, required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in full time advance nursing practice required.
  • Fulfill requirements of on-call duty policies.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in accordance with policy.
  • Use of technology-based tools, including electronic medical record, strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Primary care, palliative care, hospital-based, or hospice experience preferred.
