About The Position

Provides a variety of routine and specialized clerical and administrative services in support of a non-clinical/support unit. Will work independently or with other coordinators to support the SEBMG hospitalists and other SEBMG inpatient clinicians. Liaison between the hospital and Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation to support patients both admitted and discharged. Work with outside healthcare clinics to bridge the gap with supporting the patients needs. Executes a variety of clerical duties and prioritizes information and requests in a timely manner. Answer phones and triaging calls and requests. Gains confidence and cooperation from staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. May also be responsible for orienting new staff and clinicians to the department/unit. Please note training will include at least 2-4 weeks of mandatory weekday training. Additional weekend and holiday training/coverage may be expected on an as needed basis. The expected shifts are Wednesday-Sunday, located at Summit Medical Center, Oakland. May occasionally support Antioch location for cross-coverage, as needed. The hours of this role are 0500-1330 or 0800-1630.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • 1-year recent relevant experience.
  • 2-years recent relevant experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant or healthcare administrative/clinical experience preferred.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, EPIC).
  • Ability to interpret data and instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills.
