FT Night Inpatient Hospice RN
About The Position
Coastal Hospice invites you to join a team of caregivers who are committed to promoting dignity and quality of life for patients and families who face life-limiting conditions. As a nightshift RN at our Coastal Hospice by the Lake inpatient facility, you will: • Be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA (American Nurses Association) Standards and the Nursing Process • Utilize equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures • Oversee and/or participates in safe medication handling and practices • Educate patients and families on significant self-care and end of life issues, all hospice services, patient liability for payment and ensures consent and payer forms are completed • Act as a patient advocate. Provides support, information and direct care • Triages phone calls to identify patient/family needs and notifies Admission Services of referrals • Oversee and delegates assignments of CMTs, LPNs, Hospice Aides, students and volunteers on shift • Participates in weekend, holiday, on-call and/or evening/night rotations • Maintain appropriate licenses and adheres to continuing education obligations • Ability to cover different areas of hospice care to assure organizational needs are met
Requirements
- Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, Delaware or other compact state
Nice To Haves
- BSN from an accredited college preferred
- CHPN certification expected within two (2) years of employment
