About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is a vital leadership role at The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations, responsible for guiding and supporting both clinical and non-clinical (direct care) staff in delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed services to youth in a residential setting. This role plays a central part in shaping a positive, collaborative team environment that promotes accountability, professional growth, and high standards of care. With oversight of a multidisciplinary team, including SUDPs and direct care staff, the Clinical Supervisor ensures cohesive teamwork across department to maintain consistency in care, safety, and structure. This role not only upholds clinical quality and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., WAC, ASAM, IHS), but also actively cultivates a workplace culture rooted in respect, shared responsibility, and mutual support. The Clinical Supervisor leads by example, fostering open communication and a solution-focused approach to challenges. They are instrumental in mentoring staff, guiding daily operations, and reinforcing a team culture that prioritizes youth well-being and healing. Their leadership helps ensure that all staff—regardless of discipline—are aligned in their commitment to excellence, ethical practice, and culturally grounded care. Working closely with the Behavioral Health Director, the Clinical Supervisor also contributes to program development, continuous quality improvement, and staff training initiatives. The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience, deep knowledge of adolescent behavioral health and substance use treatment, and a strong belief in the power of teamwork to drive meaningful change.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in staff supervision within a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting.
  • Current Washington State license as a Mental Health Professional or Clinical Social Worker (LMHC, LMFT, or LICSW) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support both clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Strong knowledge of ASAM criteria, co-occurring disorders, and integrated behavioral health practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and uphold the mission and values of The Healing Lodge.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, including documentation, navigation, and reporting functions.
  • Ability to manage email communication, digital scheduling, and file organization in a professional setting.
  • Comfort using virtual meeting platforms and collaborative tools as needed for supervision, training, and team coordination.

  • Knowledge of State, Federal, Indian Health Services, and licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to SUDPs and direct care staff, fostering professional growth and ethical practice.
  • Mentor and coach both clinical and non-clinical staff as needed to support team development and performance.
  • Support the integration of behavioral health services by promoting understanding of ASAM criteria and co-occurring disorders.
  • Ensure treatment planning and documentation reflect comprehensive, person-centered care that includes input from families, communities, and referral sources.
  • Promote adherence to agency policies, state regulations, medical billing standards, and accreditation requirements through supervision and collaboration.
  • Provide oversight and support for the day-to-day operations of the assigned wing in partnership with Service Unit Supervisors.
  • Serve as backup support for staff when needed to maintain continuity of care and operational stability.
  • Ensure all clinical and patient records are properly maintained, complete, and up to date to reflect quality patient care.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, holistic care for residents.
  • Uphold and model the vision and mission of The Healing Lodge, promoting a trauma-informed, culturally respectful, and youth-centered environment.
  • Present Healing Lodge leadership professionally and respectfully at all times, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain accountability for clinical quality, staff performance, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Respond to concerns, grievances, and incidents with professionalism and transparency, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
  • Enforce professional boundaries and safety standards, including strict prohibition of illegal or inappropriate conduct such as providing age-restricted items to minors.
