Organization: MMC-Memorial Medical Center Position Overview: Delivers pharmaceutical care through the provision of patient-centered clinical service, medication information, education, medication preparation and distribution that ensures safe, effective, and cost efficient medication therapy. Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. Precepts Pharmacy Residents in accredited Residency Program. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. This role involves close collaboration with physicians, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), nurses, and fellow pharmacists to ensure optimal medication management and patient outcomes. The pharmacist will actively participate in emergency responses, including stroke alerts, STEMI, trauma alerts, and code blue situations, requiring quick decision-making and advanced clinical skills. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the pharmacist will contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives and serve as a preceptor for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) students and PGY1 pharmacy residents. Preferred qualifications include completion of a PGY2 residency in emergency medicine or critical care, or PGY1 residency with emergency medicine experience, or equivalent direct patient care experience in an ED practice setting.
