About The Position

Northern Light Acadia Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Pediatric Inpatient team in Bangor, Maine. In this position, you will join the largest treatment facility for inpatient child psychiatry in the state and work in our new, state of the art, 50 private bed hospital that recently opened in fall 2023. Position Details: Lead an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing psychiatric care and teaching on the pediatric inpatient service at NL Acadia Hospital Option to participate in teaching/lecturing opportunities with our Adult Psychiatry Residency Program Become eligible for a clinical faculty position at the University of New England School of Osteopathic Medicine Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule Possess solid clinical, teaching, and leadership skills Oversee the diagnostic process and the formulation and implementation of treatment plans; ensure therapies and activities provided are consistent with treatment plan objectives In conjunction with the interdisciplinary pediatric psychiatry team, perform diagnostic evaluations, initiate treatment interventions, provide follow-up evaluations, and lead interdisciplinary team meetings Northern Light Acadia Hospital is an acute care, regional psychiatric teaching hospital that is the hub of a comprehensive behavioral health service line within Northern Light Health. We serve communities throughout the state and provide inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care for children, teens, and adults while specializing in the treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders. In addition, we offer innovative programming in the form of behavioral health home, integrated behavioral healthcare in primary care practices, general hospital psychiatry, and an extensive telepsychiatry network. Responsibilities

  • Lead an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing psychiatric care and teaching on the pediatric inpatient service at NL Acadia Hospital
