About The Position

Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare of Mississippi is seeking a new Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our growing service line. This full-time inpatient role provides significant growth opportunities and occasional adult patient interaction. Children and adolescents may encounter mental health and behavioral challenges similar to adults. Brentwood offers inpatient care for those aged 5 to 17 facing emotional and behavioral issues. Care is delivered in a supportive, secure, and controlled setting where a compassionate team of mental health professionals can effectively treat young patients. Our inpatient facility features distinct child and adolescent sections, with dedicated staff and programs for age-appropriate care. Directed by a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist, our multidisciplinary team includes therapists, social workers, nurses, case managers, activity/recreational therapists, and/or nutritionists. We craft individualized treatment plans by collaborating with families, schools, community agencies, and other service providers.

Requirements

  • BE/BC in General or Child/Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Experience and interest in treating ages 5 and older.
  • Ability to treat adults on weekend call and for cross coverage as needed.
  • MS license or the ability to obtain.
  • On-site presence required but a hybrid model can be discussed for weekday and weekend call rounding.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily follow-up care of patients.
  • Perform admission assessments and evaluations on new patients.
  • Provide treatment team leadership.
  • Manage a diverse Child/Adolescent caseload with NP assistance and shared call responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with a specialized multidisciplinary team in Child/Adolescent care.
