New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking an Innovation Project Analyst to provide analytical and project support to the Office of Innovation for the various innovative projects that NJNG will be undertaking. These projects cover all three pillars of NJNG's decarbonization strategy, Behind-the-Meter, Innovation in Operations and Clean Fuels. Responsibilities will include working collaboratively in the Office of Innovation to ensure that all communications effectively reach the project teams including project consultants, manage meetings and materials for meetings (both internal and external), prepare project financials including tracking all costs, creating project plans and timelines, monitoring and reporting on project progression, working with retained experts to clearly understand deliverables on key milestones and working to ensure that necessary actions are being taken by the appropriate project participants to ensure timely and successful completion of the projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field is required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in the clean energy industry; relevant internship experience with an energy company preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Quick to learn new systems, including Oracle, to support tracking and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and use data effectively.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively as part of a team to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain detailed project documentation, including project business cases, contracts and change orders throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Assist Innovation team with daily activities, such as preparing reports, schedule and facilitate meetings between all stakeholders of each project to provide regular project update reports and ensure timely and effective communication when critical matters arise.
  • Monitor project budgets, process invoices, and track purchase orders to ensure financial compliance.
  • Create project schedules that will include all necessary steps and requirements of the project to ensure successful completion.
  • Develop project cost estimates with input from the team, track progress of the project against the cost plan and report regularly to Leadership.
  • Ensure seamless communication with all project resources including Office of Innovation team, Vendors, Consultants and Experts
  • Develop presentation materials for meetings, both internal and external, in support of the Project Leadership Team and Project Managers
  • Develop routine and regular reports and dashboards on the projects that can be shared with the Office of Innovation, Stakeholders and NJR Senior Leadership that depict the project progression and the timeliness for delivery, cost relative to plan and key upcoming milestones for the projects.
  • Review industry material and other technical journals to keep informed of industry movement, and share important updates with Office of Innovation and NJR Senior Leadership to ensure that all parties understand current developments and opportunities that will keep the parties informed
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and troubleshoot issues, identification of potential hazards and create risk reduction plans.
