We are seeking an Innovation Lab Infrastructure Engineer at the Intermediate Level to join our Technical Operations Team within the USAA Labs Innovation Department. This role is crucial as it involves providing technical assistance and guidance on various cutting-edge technologies and projects, including 3D printing, drones, and IoT devices. The engineer will collaborate with the team responsible for designing and supporting the USAA Labs Data Center and Infrastructure, which encompasses LAN/WAN networks, NetApp storage, machine learning GPU environments, VMware virtual environments, and multiple DMZs. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working with impactful teams and is motivated to grow their skills while contributing to our mission. This position requires a commitment to meet timelines while bringing a lively element to the work environment. The role is based in either San Antonio, TX, or Plano, TX, and requires the individual to be in the office four days a week. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position. In this role, you will design scalable IT system infrastructure under direct supervision, implement system changes with some independence, and may automate service delivery and maintenance tasks. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting technology production issues, analyzing outages for solutions, and participating in product selection and testing. Your work will involve understanding engineering standard methodologies and aligning customer requirements with standardized product offerings. Additionally, you will develop software-defined infrastructure in code within CI/CD pipelines and ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively managed in accordance with risk and compliance policies.
