Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking an Innovation Intern to join their team! This summer 2026 Innovation internship is a full-time, paid position that will last for 10 weeks. As an intern, you will be assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within your chosen field of study. This program is structured to immerse you in a learning-intensive environment, providing insights into the business world and fostering hands-on experience. Throughout the internship, you will have the chance to acquire new skills and enhance existing ones, all within a dynamic and forward-thinking business context. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various departments, allowing you to grasp the entirety of a project’s lifecycle, from its initiation to completion.

  • Assist in building and testing mobile applications to support business processes.
  • Develop automated workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
  • Support the creation of dashboards and reports using Power BI to provide data-driven insights.
  • Gain exposure to Procore and assist in optimizing workflows within the platform.
  • Work with SQL databases to manage and analyze limited sets of data.
  • Observe and support fleet management activities, including tracking and reporting.
  • Gain an understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its applications.
  • Assist in managing the IT support ticket system and troubleshooting basic IT issues.
  • Get firsthand exposure to construction tools and techniques to understand field-level operations.
  • Currently enrolled in a degree or certificate program in Information Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner who wants to contribute to the success of IT initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Impeccable integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in the Microsoft Power Platform, preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and data management principles.
  • Interest in construction technology, Procore, and BIM.
