About The Position

The Innovation Expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) at Electrolux Home Products, Inc. is responsible for leading the design, development, and simulation of sealed refrigeration systems for domestic refrigerators and freezers. This role focuses on new product development and product care activities, ensuring quality and efficiency in refrigeration systems. The position requires technical leadership in the integration of cooling system components and collaboration with various teams to transition prototypes into market-ready products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or foreign equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in design, development, and simulations of sealed refrigeration systems.
  • Experience with CFD simulation using Star CCM+ and ANSYSCFX.
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with project development tools such as DFMEA, Six Sigma, and project planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP).
  • Familiarity with waterfall analysis for energy efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and simulations of sealed refrigeration systems for domestic refrigerators and freezers.
  • Develop algorithms for refrigerators and freezers using VBA routines for Microsoft Excel and Model Based Design (MBD) with MATLAB.
  • Perform and coordinate CFD simulation cases to optimize airflow solutions using Star CCM+ software.
  • Provide technical leadership for the design and qualification of cooling system components.
  • Apply thermodynamic and fluid dynamics studies to enhance mechanical refrigeration systems.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with other departments using project management software.
  • Develop new product features and system performance improvements.
  • Employ cooling system energy simulation tools to predict energy consumption and performance.
  • Conduct validation studies comparing simulation results to experimental tests.
  • Mentor other engineers on the refrigeration systems team.
