The Innovation Documentation Analyst is responsible for coordinating, creating, and managing all critical documentation required to support New Product Development (NPD) from concept through commercialization. This role follows established procedures while serving as the primary owner for developing and finalizing Master Formulas (MFs), Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs), Finished Product Specifications (FPSs), Label Change Orders (LCOs), Label Specifications (LSs), Component Specifications (CSs), Raw Material Specifications (RMSs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), Outside Contractor Manufacturer (OCM) Specifications and Product Master Files (PMFs) for new products, BOMs, Item Cards, and Routes in Thorne’s Manufacturing Resource Planning Software. The Innovation Documentation Analyst is responsible for the initiation, monitoring and maintenance of all change controls related to NPDs. The Innovation Documentation Analyst partners closely with cross-functional teams—including the Product Documentation Group, Procurement, Planning, Regulatory, Quality, and Manufacturing—to ensure timely and accurate documentation and change management engagement that meets regulatory, operational, and quality standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful launch of new products by driving documentation accuracy, consistency, compliance and completeness throughout the NPD process.

  • Leads the creation, verification, and approval of all product documentation required for New Product Development, ensuring on-time completion to meet launch milestones.
  • Participates as an active role in NPD project meetings to highlight risks to timeline and proactively raises risks to launch milestones for required documentation.
  • Assists in maintaining, updating, and storing documentation throughout revision changes.
  • Collaborates in real time with R&D, Engineering, Production, and Quality personnel to create or edit documents.
  • Serves as a liaison in urgent and complex issues for Engineering, Marketing, Planning, Procurement, Production, and Quality.
  • Performs new product and new item setup through change control system and Thorne’s Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software, ensuring all applicable individuals are notified.
  • Develops, verifies, and maintains MMRs, ensuring correct information is represented.
  • Develops, verifies, and maintains FPSs, ensuring correct information is represented.
  • Develops, verifies, and maintains additional specifications, including raw materials, packaging components, labels, outside contract manufacturing (OCM), and empty capsules.
  • Creates department training materials, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Evaluates CM checklists to ensure scope meets correct process and/or documentation requirements for implementation.
  • Assists with ongoing implementation tasks related to Thorne’s Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) software, including continued testing and system verification.
  • Generates and manages the change process for any approved changes ensuring that revisions to formulas and BOMs.
  • Organizes and leads meetings for determining solutions and proposes ideas for implementation.
  • Manages personal and team priorities for special projects and urgent tasks.
  • Evaluates risk and the ability to address random urgencies regardless of prior knowledge and completes the task before escalation.
  • Performs special projects and other Program Office duties as they arise.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
  • Employee must understand and be able to use basic mathematical (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), algebraic functions, scientific notation, logarithmic functions, and graphing.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the metric system and be able to work with all units of measurement, using whole numbers and decimals.
