The position involves efficiently using and training designers and interns in AutoDesk Fusion, SolidWorks, Lumion, and other software tools to produce accurate concept models and final production models. The role requires managing a team of designers on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, tracking performance goals, and performing timely reviews of employees. The candidate will lead the team with ideation and concepts using sketching and drawing skills, manage PlayCore 3D model printing services at Auburn Research Park studio, and lead early concept work and development of new products, including metal tubing, rotationally molded plastic, routed high density polyethylene, rope cable, and sheet metal products. Responsibilities also include converting product concepts into prototypes, working with 3D models, and finalizing models and assemblies that will impact shop drawings and installation manuals. The candidate must work with a sense of urgency and under the pressure of a fast-paced environment, collaborating with PlayCore company designers and drafters for project completion and checking output for accuracy. Additionally, the role involves studying models, building prototypes, and participating in playground installations to increase knowledge of GT products while adhering to commercial safety guidelines on all new product designs.
