About The Position

Innovation Apprentice at AllCare Health with the Innovation team! Summary This position is responsible for being a member of AllCare Health’s cross-functional innovation team who work to solve specific problems in the organization, to remove silos and approach critical problems from multiple perspectives, by performing the following duties.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training in at least one of the following areas: technology (e.g., analytics/ai/full-stack), business operations/re-engineering, marketing/design, training/facilitation/change management, project management, and/or LEAN or human-centered design principles.
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.
  • Process Improvement & Lean Methodologies: Skilled in identifying inefficiencies, streamlining workflows, and applying Lean or Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and optimize performance.
  • Project Management Tools & Agile Methodologies: Proficient in tools like Asana, or Microsoft Project; experienced in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban frameworks to manage iterative innovation cycles.
  • AI Tools for Productivity & Innovation: Microsoft Copilot for document drafting, meeting summaries, and data analysis.
  • Data Analysis & Visualization: Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data using Excel, Power BI, AI-powered analytics platforms or similar tools to uncover insights and support decision-making.
  • Root Cause Analysis & Problem-Solving Frameworks: Experienced in using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to diagnose and address core issues.
  • Strategic Planning & Business Case Development: Capable of developing business cases, ROI analyses, and strategic roadmaps to support high-impact initiatives.
  • Change Management Tools: Familiar with Prosci ADKAR or Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model to support adoption of new processes and innovations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Platforms: Skilled in using AI-enhanced collaboration tools, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to collaborate across departments and disciplines.
  • Innovation & Design Thinking: Knowledge of design thinking principles to ideate, prototype, and test creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Ability to identify potential risks in new or blocked initiatives and develop mitigation strategies to protect business continuity.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Proficient in creating clear, actionable documentation and reports for stakeholders using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, and confidentiality, earning trust and confidence.
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with diverse teams and customers.
  • Resolves conflicts independently and manages stress with composure.

  • The employee must be able to work onsite for all scheduled shifts.
  • The employee must be able to travel, as needed.

  • College degree preferred.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma, process improvement, project management, Lean, Agile and/or Scrum are preferred.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and solves complex problems within the organization, in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Contributes specific skills, competencies, and background to a cross-functional team of experts.
  • Collaborates with team members to come up with innovative solutions.
  • Participates in local travel to attend meetings, trainings, and collaborate across AllCare sites to ensure alignment and engagement.
  • Identifies and defines specific problems.
  • Contributes to the team’s scope and context for each project.
  • Contributes to the team’s project priorities, timelines, project plans, and reporting.
  • Addresses complex problems swiftly and effectively.
  • Supports effective planning, communication, and training are defined in each project implementation.

  • Meticulously investigates to uncover the root cause of issues from various angles, offering comprehensive insights into the issues at hand.
  • Determines how changes to processes and systems will affect operations.
  • Produces reports, implementation plans, and visual aids to communicate expectations and progress to stakeholders.
  • Ignites new ideas in product development, enhancing products and services.
  • Contributes to the development of creative solutions.
  • Ensures systems of monitoring to ensure that transformational efforts endure after the innovation team steps away from operational details.
  • Supports the organization in an innovation-focused culture shift, modeling AllCare Health’s values and adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Learns and applies iterative human-centered design activities and testing, including conducting interviews and shadowing members, providers, staff and other stakeholders.
