The Innovation and Strategy Consultant is a member of the Operations & Enablement team within the UHG Strategy organization, and will operate as a versatile, shared-service resource focused on managing centralized & standardized processes across the team while also supporting priority initiatives across strategic growth, product innovation and enterprise partnership functions. Requirements

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in project or program management, strategy execution, or operational support
  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across teams and internal/external partners to foster collaboration, trust, and alignment toward shared goals
  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability to deliver clear, concise, and compelling communication across all levels, ensuring ideas resonate and objectives are understood
  • 1+ years of demonstrated ability to turn data into actionable insights, identify patterns, and craft strategies that guide decision-making and long-term planning
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to completion, driving outcomes while maintaining focus on timelines, quality, and results
  • Proven ability to work independently while embedded in cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of healthcare to include financial acumen, product, operations, technology operation, and data
  • Understanding of and experience with UnitedHealth Group's enterprise, business units, and capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Embed within program teams to drive execution of high-priority initiatives
  • Establish team cadences, clarify roles, and support delivery of program milestones
  • Maintain alignment with program MBOs (Management by Objectives) and success metrics
  • Provide support in areas such as portfolio-level reporting, risk identification, vendor/partner management, and financial modeling
  • Deliver executive-ready presentations, dashboards, and visualizations
  • Ensure scope remains aligned with original program intent unless otherwise approved
  • Participate in regular engagement reviews and adjust support as needed
  • Engage in healthy conflict, challenge the status quo, and foster collaboration
  • Recognize and celebrate team contributions regularly
