About The Position

The Inkjet/Inserter Operator at Worth Higgins & Associates is responsible for operating and maintaining high-speed inkjet printing and inserter equipment within the mailing department. This role is essential for ensuring that mail pieces are produced accurately and efficiently, adhering to quality standards and client specifications while meeting production deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing or machine operation is a plus.
  • Previous experience operating inkjet printers and/or inserter machines in a high-volume mailing or print environment.
  • Familiarity with variable data printing and mailing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors during the production process.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machinery.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity for machine operation and maintenance tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-speed mailing equipment such as Pitney Bowes, Bell & Howell, or similar.
  • Knowledge of mailing industry standards and postal regulations.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling and inventory control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain inkjet printing systems to print addresses, barcodes, and other variable data onto mailpieces.
  • Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot inserter machines to ensure accurate insertion of documents and materials into envelopes or other containers.
  • Monitor machine performance, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary.
  • Inspect printed and inserted materials for accuracy, quality, and compliance with client specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings as needed to accommodate different paper sizes, types, and job requirements.
  • Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Document job details and production data, including quantities, equipment issues, and maintenance performed.
  • Report any machine malfunctions or material shortages to the supervisor for timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and job completion.
