About The Position

Purpose: Responsible for operation of the ink dispenser to mix the required Poteet Printing Systems (PPS) inks with the correct ingredients and amounts to meet production demands. Management of all tooling and materials needed outside of Corrugated sheets, to each machine’s needs. Reports to: Production Supervisor Conditions: Work in a production floor setting. Long periods of standing and/or sitting required. Routinely lift up to 50 lbs. Back-and-forth arm motions lifting cutting dies, printing plates and ink buckets. Operating Scissor lift and golf cart

  • High school education or equivalent, previous corrugated experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Print labels to accurately identify ink buckets.
  • Dispense ink for daily / weekly needs and all additional requests
  • Maintain and monitor the established ink inventory levels including determining status of used (opened) buckets of ink.
  • Stage printing plates and samples to be delivered for daily production runs
  • Communicate with PPS regarding new ink requirements and formulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dispenser area and keep the ink storage area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Oversee in printing plate maintenance and cutting die maintenance:
  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas, die racks, plate racks and storage at each machine.
  • Handle incoming plates and cutting dies (both new and existing plates transferred) by staging and cataloging into Amtech after receiving inspection.
  • Maintain samples for color matching process.
  • Order die mounting supplies.
  • Mount and repair printing plates to maintain production schedule.
  • Order and manage color swatch inventories at all locations.
  • Support and adhere to required, documented and defined procedures and work instructions including, but not limited to: food safety programs, OSHA regulations and PPE as designated.
  • Conduct daily inventory of pre-press supplies, printing paper, ink toner, clear sleeves etc
  • Prepare job bags with FO, Print card and load tags for all processes
  • Communicate via Slack and Email with all departments, responding to requests and questions, also with outside vendors regarding tooling repair and replacement coordination.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
