About The Position

The Injection Tool Room Technician at Hans-Mill Corporation is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and improving molds used in the plastic injection production process. This role requires a skilled technician to solve complex problems related to mold functionality and production efficiency, ensuring high-quality output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Journeyman License (Required).
• 3-4 years of experience as Toolmaker Level I or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with electrical and hydraulic circuits using diagrams and blueprints.
• Ability to read and write in English and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills and ability to interpret and execute work instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in injection tooling (3 years preferred).
• Electrical experience (1 year preferred).

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain molds associated with the plastic injection production process.
• Solve problems related to unusual materials, work-holding arrangements, and machine settings.
• Provide guidance to lower-level toolmakers as needed.
• Perform mold repair work on cavities and cores due to damage or wear.
• Disassemble and assemble molds, analyzing and solving basic mold problems.
• Complete engineering changes and revisions to molds.
• Manufacture new or repair existing mold components as required.
• Interpret drawings and evaluate machining methods for intricate setups under supervision.
• Perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
• Recommend revisions in design or substitutions in material based on encountered problems.
