About The Position

The primary function of this position is to provide professional nursing assistance to the physicians and staff at Jacksonville Medical Care. The role involves working as a team to deliver quality healthcare to patients while maintaining the necessary skills, knowledge, licensure, and supplies to provide these services.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid nursing or medical assistant license.
  • Must be familiar with basic medical office procedures.
  • Must have a working knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional assistance to physician and staff, working as a team to provide quality healthcare to patients.
  • Maintain responsibilities of injection and diagnostic room functions.
  • Prepare the injection and diagnostic rooms with the proper equipment and supplies necessary for daily operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Print immunization records daily to help prepare the nurses and physicians for minor aged patients with appointments.
  • Administer maintenance injections, post office visit ordered injections, and perform diagnostic testing such as vision, audiometry, and spirometry.
  • Enter all pertinent injection information into the EMR including medication, lot and expiration information, date, site, and any applicable notes.
  • Conduct urine drug screen collections for industrial accounts and prescription monitoring drug screen collections for physicians.
  • Order and maintain an adequate inventory of vaccines and routine medications used daily throughout the clinic.
  • Prepare for annual audit of the VFC and Schip program within the clinic.
  • Provide nursing assistance to physicians, physician's nurses, and administration including medication research and guidance.
  • Orchestrate the annual flu vaccine and necessary paperwork distribution to begin the flu shot season.
  • Responsible for all physician and staff annual TB skin test application and reporting of results to HR.
  • Conform to the clinic handbook and follow office guidelines set forth in the Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Convey the clinic purpose to patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Attend and participate in all in-service, department, and clinic meetings.
  • Support management decisions and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Cooperate with management, physicians, and other staff members.
  • Meet attendance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
