About The Position

The mission of the Molding Technician is to run production molded parts per production procedures, assist with molding maintenance requirements and engineering projects, and document molding activities while meeting goals of quality, cost and delivery for our customers. In the medical device industry, accuracy and attention to detail are crucial. You will report to the Production Supervisor of Molding. You will run production injection molded parts, mold set-up, start-up, processing, production, and shutdown procedures. You will be responsible for basic maintenance of the plastic injection molds and equipment. Assisting engineering with special projects is occasionally required. You will help develop molding processes and written procedures, train operators and perform other production tasks.

Requirements

  • Mechanically inclined with 2 years relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of setting tools for production and processing tools.
  • Experience using injection molding machinery including testing devices, meters, moisture analyzers, chiller, thermometers, raw material handling system, mold heat controllers, and mold presses.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with injection molding equipment and processes.
  • Ability to monitor production on multiple injection molding machines simultaneously.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Visual parts inspection including 20/20 vision (corrected).
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Understanding of business, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Maintain general knowledge of certification and regulatory requirements contained in ISO-13485, and FDA CFR/GMP Medical Device Regulation.

  • Proficient in D2 and D3 (Decoupled) molding techniques.
