The Process Technician "A" at Georg Fischer is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the injection molding process. This position requires a strong understanding of mold and tooling changes, machine troubleshooting, and maintenance repair. The technician will lead the cell operations, ensuring that all production activities adhere to the quality standards set by George Fischer Sloane, Inc. The role demands a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized production environment, which is essential for producing high-quality finished products. The Process Technician will be expected to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating leadership and training capabilities to guide other employees in their respective roles within the molding process. Key responsibilities include the changeover of tooling and mold bases, troubleshooting operating equipment, processing materials, and managing the start-up and shut down of the molding department. The technician must ensure that the correct materials are used at each machine and that all accessory equipment is set up properly, including material feeds and auxiliary cooling systems. Maintaining safety operations, such as safety switches and electrical wiring on tooling, is critical. The technician will also be responsible for keeping detailed records of tool setups, preventative maintenance, and run profiles, as well as adjusting machines to produce quality products. Training Operators and Technician "B" is also a key aspect of this role, along with performing assigned duties and reporting any safety issues to the Supervisor. The Process Technician must adhere to company policies and procedures while supporting the established quality policy and fulfilling roles as required in the documented quality system manual, directives, and work instructions.
