About The Position

The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for setting up and troubleshooting injection molding equipment to ensure efficient production processes. This role focuses on maintaining optimal cavitation and cycle efficiency while driving improvements in cycle time. The technician will also provide training and direction to production line mechanics, assist with shift supervision, and uphold safety and quality standards in the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in plastic injection molding processing.
• Knowledge and application of scientific molding principles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Some supervisory experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Full understanding and experience in Injection Molding.
• Score of 42 or higher on Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically).
• Visual acuity to distinguish color variation and detect defects.
• Ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts and recognize various sounds and alarms.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and troubleshoot Injection Molding equipment.
• Maintain cavitation and cycle efficiency, achieving optimal processing parameters and driving cycle time improvements.
• Evaluate tooling, attend tooling meetings, and collaborate with the Mold Shop to maintain tooling efficiency.
• Provide direction, training, and coaching for Production Line Mechanics.
• Assist with shift supervision.
• Drive Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals.
• Direct work activities of mechanics as needed.
• Perform any other assigned duties.
• Comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF, and other regulatory requirements.
