About The Position

As a Process Specialist at Axiom Engineered Systems, you will play a crucial role in optimizing industrial processes and ensuring the highest quality standards in our injection molding operations. This hands-on position is located at our facility in Capac, MI, where you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining process controls on presses, molds, and equipment to meet customer specifications. Your expertise will be essential in resolving manufacturing issues, developing new tooling processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to support part and tool design, ensuring that our production processes are efficient and effective. In this role, you will focus on process optimization by reducing scrap, cycle times, and mold change times. You will implement scientific molding techniques, conduct process monitoring, and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) studies to recommend tooling adjustments as necessary. Your leadership will be vital in driving process improvement initiatives for the molding team, including cycle time reduction and statistical capability improvements. You will also lead the implementation of standardized molding process limits, utilizing data analysis to enhance control and eliminate defective products within Axiom's product streams. Your responsibilities will extend to tooling and equipment management, where you will lead new tooling qualifications and provide input for project quotes to ensure that planned equipment meets operational requirements. You will conduct injection molding studies to assess overall equipment effectiveness and assist with new program launches to ensure quality parts are produced from the outset. Additionally, you will lead problem-solving efforts to determine root causes of part defects and propose cost-saving measures related to molding processes. Training and development will also be a key aspect of your role, as you will provide on-the-job training to technical teams and create work instructions for molding best practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to identify and address key challenges, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication with customers and suppliers. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safety-first culture and supporting plant standards.
