About The Position

The Machine Operator position on the 2nd shift (2:45pm-12:45am Mon-Thurs) is responsible for operating and tending to plastic molding machines to mold and form thermoplastic materials. This role requires continuous observation of the machine's operation and the quality of the molded products, ensuring they meet the required specifications. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, following production schedules, and reporting any defects to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, a technical certification, a plus
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Able to read and understand work instructions
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • General knowledge of workplace safety, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operate or tend plastic molding machine to mold and form thermoplastic materials
  • Observe continuous operation of automatic machine, and width and alignment of plastic sheeting to ensure side flanges
  • Examine molded product for surface defects, such as dents, bubbles, thin areas, and cracks
  • Remove product from mold or conveyor, and clean and reload mold
  • Stack molded parts in boxes or on conveyor for processing or leave parts in mold to cool
  • Report defects in mold to Supervisor
  • Trim flash from finished product
  • Follow directions, as noted on work order travelers and production drawings
  • Follow verbal instructions from Production Supervisor or Team Lead
  • Process orders as dictated by the production schedule
  • Perform the job function in a safe manner
  • Maintain a clean safe, work area
