About The Position

This role is responsible for operation of injection molding machines while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This is a second shift position (2:45 PM - 11 PM). The position requires a passing score on a skilled trade test. Once you apply, you will be sent a link to take the test.

Requirements

  • Understanding of mechanical concepts related to manufacturing
  • Basic understanding of math concepts
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years’ experience of Golf Ball Injection Molding Experience
  • Fork truck operation
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
  • Infrequent reaching into and working in confined spaces, including machinery
  • The work environment is very loud
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. infrequently

Responsibilities

  • Qualify new molds
  • Work closely with VE to refine our current set ups.
  • Work closely with the VE group to introduce new products.
  • Work on implementing our process team action items or objectives.
  • Communicate any unnecessary downtime of equipment within the department to other set up techs, supervisors or maintenance group.
  • Monitor product flow and schedule for accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and communicate technical issues to Electrical engineers or VE group by gathering pertinent information.
  • Schedule IM when supervisor on vacation.
  • Setup / operate /changeover / troubleshoot injection molding machines & robots and associated auxiliary equipment to ensure quality levels are maintained.
  • Install and extract molds (quick changeover) and Transport molds to/from tool room.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime such as non-return valve changes, nozzle changes, screws & barrels changes, mold changes, dryers, grinders, etc.
  • Keep area clean and organized
  • Perform required quality check such as size checks, cosmetic checks, 1st piece check, etc.
  • Make sure proper material, molds, equipment are available for each production run
  • Load /Unload material into machines
  • Teamwork and job rotation required within the department
  • Commitment to efficient and quality production
  • Participate in continuous improvement to maximize productivity and obtain the best rate of operation
  • Maintain equipment and room cleanliness
  • Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
  • Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
