About The Position

Injection Molding Engineer (Foam-in-Place / Process Engineer) 📍 Circleville, OH Automotive Manufacturing 1st Shift Why This Might Be Worth a Conversation If you’re currently optimizing molding parameters, troubleshooting scrap issues, or running DOEs; but feel like you’re stuck in reactive firefighting mode; this role offers broader process ownership and engineering influence. We’re seeking a Foam-in-Place (FIP) Injection Molding Engineer to lead process development, stabilization, and continuous improvement efforts within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This is a technical process engineering role; not a maintenance position; with visibility into materials, tooling validation, and new program launches.

Requirements

  • Polymer materials and resin behavior
  • Mold validation and parameter optimization
  • Statistical analysis tools (Minitab, SPC, DOE)
  • Automotive quality systems (APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize foam-in-place injection molding processes
  • Stabilize cycle times and reduce scrap
  • Lead process validation (mold trials, capability studies, DOE)
  • Troubleshoot complex molding and material performance issues
  • Collaborate with tooling engineers and suppliers on mold validation
  • Evaluate foam materials, resins, and compatibility with production requirements
  • Use statistical tools (SPC, DOE, Six Sigma) to drive process improvements
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, and process documentation
  • Support new product launches and equipment upgrades
