About The Position

Injection Mold Machine Operator employees are responsible for the packaging and movement of finished product, computer based data entry, ticket generation and proper product staging. Also responsible for all aspects of safe machine operation in the area of assigned responsibility. This requires the ability to understand and follow basic good manufacturing practices and guidelines, the ability to recognize, correct, and prevent quality problems, and the ability to troubleshoot all aspects of the Injection Molding process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous Manufacturing work experience is preferred.
  • Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values.
  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
  • Proficient hand / eye coordination to operate equipment and assemble packaging for shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for insuring that all finished product from machines is packaged for shipment according to the customer’s specifications and internal requirements including internal good manufacturing practices / guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to start all types of injection presses from a 'cold' start state.
  • Have the ability to understand and achieve established production standards by being able to set machine conditions to obtain optimum cycle without sacrificing quality.
  • Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean-up assignments, and adequately maintain good housekeeping throughout the entire area of responsibility.
  • When a quality problem is detected, it is the responsibility of the Machine Operator to take corrective action and notify Lead, Quality and Shift Technician.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of dryer components and processes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of chiller components and processes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of mold components and processes.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of preform dimension locations and measurements.
  • Responsible for assisting with all mold changes and set-ups. Minor maintenance activities are required.
  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor 'No Injuries Safety Contract' and as trained.
  • Directly responsible for the proper support to all Machine Operators and all other team members to ensure a positive team environment.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Lead/Supervisor.
  • Product Safety regarding cleanliness and notification of any observations that may create a product safety Risk to our customers.
  • Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents in their departments.
  • Take reasonable care for self and others to prevent injury.
