About The Position

Seeking Infusion RN! BH Lagrange Outpatient Infusion Center 2210 Green Valley Road, New Albany IN Job Summary The RN uses the nursing process to collect pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs, address and identify health problems, performs selected treatments and chemotherapy, diagnostic procedures and routine duties. The RN functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with educational preparation, training and demonstrated competencies. Direct patient care is provided to adolescent through geriatric patients. Requirements

  • Minimum Associates degree in Nursing, Bachelors degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year med-surg or ED experience required. Oncology experience is preferred.
  • Must maintain current Indiana nursing license
  • Oncology Nurse Certification highly encouraged and supported, Chemo Bio Therapy certification within 6 months of hire (training provided during orientation).
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider required from a provider that follows AHA guidelines American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology experience is preferred.
  • Oncology Nurse Certification highly encouraged and supported

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and documents patient status, including labs, diagnostic tests, and patient’s understanding of chemotherapy and other planned treatment
  • Provides care according to appropriate policy and procedure as well as oncology nursing society (ONS) guidelines.
  • Provides pertinent education to patient regarding care and symptom management
  • Evaluates patient response to therapy
  • Collaborates with members of healthcare team - physicians, supportive oncology team, pharmacist, etc. - in the provision of safe and effective patient care.
  • Demonstrates organizational and leadership skills
